about this poster

Space capsule splashdown poster, “SPLASHDOWN”

Suspended beneath 3 large striped parachutes, a cone-shaped space capsule descends toward a calm blue ocean. In the distance, tiny on the horizon, a recovery ship waits. This space exploration poster shows the end of the journey rather than the launch, the moment of returning to Earth. The blue of the sea and sky, the stripes of the parachutes and the capsule’s silhouette create a peaceful, triumphant image. The title “SPLASHDOWN” names this landing at sea.

A return to Earth for a bedroom or office

Its soothing blues suit a child’s or teen’s bedroom, an office, a library or a game room. They pair well with light wood, metal, scale models and white or midnight blue walls. Above a study desk, it is a reminder that great adventures end well. You can combine it with other posters about space, rockets or planets. It makes a natural gift for a space exploration enthusiast, a child who dreams of being an astronaut or an engineer.
